About The Career Channel (and me)
After working for 11 years as an electrical engineer (and getting next to zero job satisfaction and being depressed most of the time), I finally said enough is enough. I quit my high paying, secure job and became my own boss. I now provide engineering consulting services to construction companies, but the difference is that I do things on my own time and I only choose . In addition, I am part of a couple of small startups in Waterloo, Ontario.
Anyway, I created The Career Channel to help people like me who are stuck in dead-end or depressing positions. People who have passions and know exactly what they'd like to spend their time doing, if only they could make enough money from it.
My plan for the blog is as follows: career overviews to introduce you to new careers, interviews with people working in those positions and salary and job outlook statistics so you can decide if the job would work for you.
